The mission of Baker County High School is to encourage student attendance, foster appropriate student attitudes, and facilitate academic and workplace achievement.
 
FGC COLLEGE NIGHT

 Florida Gateway College Night will be held on May 9th in the BCHS Media Center  from 3:30 - 6:30PM.  FGC will offer hands on assistance with completion of the admission application, as well as the FAFSA.  Expert staff will be there to assist with these processes, with support/information tables offered from:  Financial aid options, TSIC, TRiO Student Support Services and general college recruitment.  A computer lab for completion of the FAFSA will be open to parents and students.

SENIOR SIGNING DAY

Senior Signing Day    
 
Baker County High School will be recognizing seniors that have been accepted/or will be accepted, into a college or university.  There will be an assembly for all seniors to attend on Wednesday May 11th at 8:30 AM in the cafeteria.  At this assembly students will sign a pledge committing to excel in college.  Pictures will be taken of the signing event.  This event is open to parents/family.  If a senior would like to participate in this yearly event you need to register by Friday May 6.  There are three ways to register.  You will share your name and what college/university you will be attending.
  1.  Call Mrs Shellie Smith @ 259-0343
  2.  Go by Mrs Smith’s office in person
  3.  Email Mrs Smith @   Michelle.Smith@bakerk12.org

June M. Hinckley Music Education Scholarship
The Florida Music Education Association (FMEA) is accepting scholarship applications for the 2016 June M. Hinckley Music Education Scholarship. Applications are due by Friday, April 22. More information about the scholarship and how to apply can be found at: http://fmea.flmusiced.org/programs/scholarship/.
 
EDUCATION FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIPS NOW AVAILABLE

The Education Foundation Scholarships are now available to download and complete. The deadline for applying for these scholarships is Monday, May 2 and are to be turned in to BCHS guidance.  Go to the district website to download applications or come by guidance.

Florida’s Economic Security Report focuses on the median first-year earnings of recent graduates and completers from Florida’s public postsecondary educational institutions.  The following links are provided for you to further explore.
FLORIDASTUDENTS.org


Floridastudents.org is a site dedicated to students. This site now contains over 200 high-quality, standards-focused tutorials in all content areas and grade levels. The number of student tutorials is on target to exceed 400 tutorials by the end of the summer.

Additionally the site contains more than 2,000 additional learning resources and a banner that links to the official SAT practice now on Khan Academy. 

Floridastudents.org is designed for students as a supplement to classroom instruction.  It is to be used exclusively for and by students and is not designed or intended for integration into classroom instruction.
